About the Scholarship

The HEI Scholarship is for eligible dependents of Hawaiian Electric Industries employees who plan to continue their education in college. HEI, HECO / HELCO / MECO, and ASB (the HEI Companies) have established a scholarship program through the Hawaiian Electric Industries Charitable Foundation. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, demonstrated leadership, participation in community service and extracurricular activities, and a personal statement of education and career goals and aspirations. Special consideration is given to renewal applicants.

Requirements

Eligible dependent of a current Hawaiian Electric Industries employee who has a minimum of one-year full-time employment at the time of application deadline (Dependents of senior executives of HEI Companies are not eligible to apply)

Minimum 2.5 GPA

Aged 24 or younger

Enrolled or planning to enroll as a firstyear undergraduate

Seeking a bachelor's degree in the U.S. as a fulltime student

Demonstrate leadership

Participate in community service and extracurricular activities, and have defined career goals Preference is given to renewal applicants. An eligible dependent is a natural or adopted dependent child, stepchild, or fully dependent ward of an HEI Company Employee. Senior executives are Vice Presidents and above at HEI and HECO/HELCO/MECO and Senior Vice Presidents and above at ASB.
