The Dr. Everett W. Butler OD Memorial Scholarship is offered to undergraduate students at the University of Virginia from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Virginia. Students who wish to pursue a degree in science are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to a student who plans to attend medical school and seeks a career in optometry, followed by students who plan to attend medical school and pursue a career in any eye-related medical profession, and finally, a student planning to attend medical school who make a strong case for helping others as their motivation.

Attending the University of Virginia as a fulltime student

Exhibit strong academic achievement

Demonstrate financial need First preference is given to a student who plans to attend medical school and seeks a career in optometry. Second preference is given to a student who plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in any eyerelated medical profession. Third preference is given to a student planning to attend medical school and makes a strong case for helping others as their motivation.
