AVEC Scholarship provides scholarship/loans to members of the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) and their families who are attending or planning to attend college in any state and are willing to work in the area after graduation.

Requirements

This program is open to members of AVEC and residents of households whose head is a member.

Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll full or parttime in a trade school, apprenticeship, vocational/technical school, or college to obtain a marketable skill or trade that can be used to work in an AVEC village.

They must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

They must be willing to search for employment in AVEC's geographic location that encourages the continued economic development of the area, to accept such a position if it is offered, and to work for 1 year for each year of scholarship support.
